Hello all!
Just a quick update on where I am with reviews!
I do apologize for not updating in a while, but I've been dealing with some ridiculous sickness. It happens! That being said, here's what's on my agenda:
Juicy Reviews
Title: Lexicon
Author: Max Barry
Genre: Science Fiction/Thriller
What a fantastically bizarre story! I look forward to this review for a wide variety of reasons. If you're looking for a good summer read, Lexicon is a good place to start.
Title: Hardwired
Series: The Hacker Series (#1)
Author: Meredith Wild
Genre: Adult/Romance
I was really disappointed with Hardwired. It's not that it doesn't deliver, but everything was overly expected. There's nothing particularly fresh about the story. But, if you are hankering for another Fifty Shades of Grey-esque story line, pick up a copy of Ms. Wild's Hacker series.
What I've Been (Re)Reading
Title: Fifty Shades of Grey; Fifty Shades Darker; Fifty Shades Freed
Series: Fifty Shades #1-3
Author: E.L. James
Genre: Adult/Romance
I refuse to review these books here, and it's only because I just don't feel any pressing need to parrot what has already been said! However, I am enjoying my casual re-read of the series. It's quite shocking how many books pull directly from Ms. James' successful story line and meld it (or straight rip off of it) to their own devices.
What I'm About to Read:
Title: City of Heavenly Fire
Series: The Mortal Instruments #6
Author: Cassandra Clare
Genre: Paranormal/Young Adult/Fantasy/Romance
Honestly, I have to reread, or at least skim, the first five books of this series before I truly tackle this book. Right now, The Infernal Devices' story sticks out in my mind more than the series of events of The Mortal Instruments. Both series are phenomenal; please don't let the movie sway your judgment as to whether or not you'll read Ms. Clare's works.
Until next time, happy reading!
-K
